Are u already aware of Micro 3D Printing capabilities?

Last November 26th we were invited to meet the MIMAN-T project group in their work meeting for following up the development of the Online Micromanufacturing Training System for SMEs. ASERM was hosting the meeting performed at Cerdanyola del Vallés at EURECAT, where their offices are located. Mr. Felip Esteve (right) conducted the meeting addressed to update the hints and deliverables status of the project and participants from Fundació ASCAMM (Spain), CNR-ITIA, the Institute of Industrial Technology and Automation of the National Research Council (Italy), The Nottingham Precision Manufacturing Centre (PMC) of the Univertity of Nottingham (UK), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) (Germany), and Voxeled Materials (Spain) were present.

We were invited to promote the Testing phase of the System. THE TEST consists of accessing the online platform through the user and password provided by the coordinators, performing the training and completing the Testing Survey provided by the platform itself. So, we encourage you to join this testing and perform the training about MICRO-MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES (MMT) for free!!!

JOIN US AS BETA TESTER!!! You can take the online course FOR FREE until 31th dec, 2015. Send an e-mail to: miman-t@aserm.net

MICRO-MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGIES (MMT) are widely recognised as key enabling technologies to address the "grand challenges” of the 21st century society, facilitating development of new innovative products and systems and impacting across a broad range of application areas. The ultimate benefit is to improve yet affordable health care, higher standards of living, quality consumer goods, addressing the three interlinked priorities identified by the EU strategy Europe 2020, promoting smart , sustainable and inclusive growth. In this regard

The MIMAN-T online training course is divided into six modules:

An Introduction on micro-manufacturing technologies gives a comparative overview on the latest advancements in micro-manufacturing technologies as well as technical details on the main issues arising when approaching the micro-scale.

Four cutting-edge micro-manufacturing technologies enabling miniaturisation, new product features and actual process improvement are presented in four separated modules:

•Micro-injection moulding

Key concepts and features of micro-injection moulding.

•Micro-additive manufacturing:

Main micro-scale additive manufacturing (AM) technologies

•Micro-machining:

Key concepts and considerations for micro-machining

•Moulded interconnect devices:

Miniaturised and 3 Dimensional printed board circuit (PCB)

A final module on micro-manufacturing market provides an analysis of the current and future markets; and investigates the current and future business models for micro-manufacturing.

For each of the technologies, the dedicated module offers an outline on the technologies, presenting the technical aspects, advantages, limitations and applications and deepening paths in order to furnish further on-demand information, including practical applications to provide hands-on experience.

After every module or module chapter, you will find a 10-question quiz to test your freshly acquired knowledge. Finally, at the end of the training you can take the final quiz covering all modules.
