Experienced Orthopedic Surgeon outlines the Value of Knowing the 3D Printing Process from Within

Dr. Angels Salvador is an innovative orthopedic surgeon that has been an active driver of the applications of new models of medicine based upon technological improvements during the last 10 years. After her 30 years as an orthopedic surgeon & management as Head of Orthopedics, she is now performing a doctoral thesis on the translation to clinical practice of the research on 3D bioprinting and tissue engineering. In order to know from within the 3D printing process and its applications at the medical and biomedical field she attended the “Design and Fabrication of 3D Printed Medical Applications” course offered by Voxeled Materials last January at Barcelona. After taking the course she points out that now she is able to understand the real current limits of the 3D printing technology while she has a global knowledge of the technical tools that are required for the implementation of the technology at clinical applications.
