3D PRINTING AT THE MICRO AND NANOSCALE

When one think about the multiple useful electronic functions that are available at our pocket in the form of a mobile phone it is easy to understand how important is nanofabrication and microfabrication. In the last years the demand for smaller devices has been growing steadily for interesting applications like miniature motors and turbines, micro-satellites, implantable medical devices, minimally invasive surgery equipment, micro robots, and miniature molds and dies. Next September 26-27th it will be held at Valencia, Spain the Nanotec 2016 Conference, an event dedicated to showcase the last improvements and requirements of the real life industrial and commercial applications of nanotechnologies.

3D printing, describes a group of technologies used to produce objects through the addition rather than the removal of material. 3D printing is a very powerful enabling technology for the mentioned micromanufacturing trend and there are several different 3D printing methods that have been scaled to the micro and nano dimensions to allow important applications like controlled release of drugs and organic principles, bionics, microelectronics and optoelectronics for Biochips, MEMS, microfluidic devices, photonic crystals, scaffolds for tissue engineering and carriers for drug-delivery devices.

Voxeled Materials will be offering a presentation on this subject at the Nanotec 2016 Conference, for all the chemical and research companies that are interested to understand how the integration of basic research to study the requirements of new printable nanomaterial and new printing technologies is required. At technological level a strong integration it is also required among different areas as micro and nanofabrication processes, new nanomaterials for manufacturing, new production processes with low environmental and energetic impacts, ICT and robotic solutions.

We hope to see you there in the conference that will be held in the Palacio de Congresos of the beautiful city of Valencia, a venue that won the prize for World´s Best Conventions Center at 2010.
